Make a positive difference to the Great Barrier Reef and Sugarcane Farming in Queensland’s Wet Tropics.
Funded through the Australian Government Reef Trust Phase III program and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation Reef Water Quality Improvement Grant Program, your job will be to deliver water quality, productivity and profitability outcomes in the Wet Tropics cane industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to live in Queensland’s beautiful Wet Tropics and work as part of a motivated team on one of Australia’s greatest challenges, to improve water quality entering the Great Barrier Reef.
You will be working with individual Wet Tropics sugarcane growers for a contract period to help them improve their land management practices that lead to improved water quality as well as productivity and profitability benefits to their agricultural businesses.
We are recruiting for two (2) District Extension Officer positions who will be based within partners organisations of the Wet Tropics Sugar Industry Partnership in Cairns/Babinda and Tully coastal sugarcane districts.
